In my early thirties I decide to go for the Mirena IUD. About 6 months later I started lactating as if I was pregnant. My family was afraid to tell me I was angry and short all the time. It was a mini intervention to see if I loved them. The Dr’s wanted to wait and see, I gave it about 2 more months and demanded a swap out for the copper.
Although the copper lasted 6 out of the 10 years, my periods were extremely heavy, occurred every 2.5 – 3 weeks. Many cultures taken. Cysts found and…To the point, I needed to have a partial hysterectomy.
