Amber’s Story

I got the iud 6 weeks after the birth of my first son because I was recommended to by the doctor and my fiancé so I took the chance. A couple of weeks after I got it inserted I felt a sharp pain in my side and after talking to my doctor he decided to see my 2 weeks later and that’s when he discovered it was partially in the muscle. Due to insurance issues I had to wait and 7 months later I had my first surgery after the many attempts to get it out in office via camera and looking blindly. I had to go to the hospital so they can put my to sleepy and put a camera in my uterus and start looking. I woke up a couple of hours later and I was told they didn’t find it. A few weeks past by and I had my second surgery (laparoscopically) they cut through my belly button and 2 incisions along my bikini line and the same thing happened again they weren’t able to find it. I was told I’d need a csection type of surgery and to make my decision it took me 5 months to decide to get it done after I got pregnant and lost my child due to the iud. So this past Tuesday I got a csection and a huge scar along my bikini line to remove the iud. It has been the worst decision I’ve ever made.
