I’ve had my copper IUD for almost 8 months now. The cramps are very sharp and painful, but usually only last two days. However, my period usually lasts 14 days. First 8 days of heavy to moderate bleeding and the next 6 days are light bleeding. I’ve been considering taking out my IUD because at this point it’s affecting my quality of life. Two weeks is way too long for me. But the problem is I would have to get on another birth control and I’m scared to see how the hormonal options would affect me. 🙁
